Struttin’ in Stratford

Stratford Upon Avon is a charming little town that is known for its Shakespeare heritage. As it is the place where he was born, wrote some of his plays, got married, and is buried, the town is high on the list for any literary lover.

However, it is more than a Shakespeare sight. It is also a cute and peaceful storybook land you can jump into when you want an escape from city life. Some of my favorite things about my visit include Tea shops are around every corner, adorable bed and breakfasts, and themed stores like a Christmas and Peter Rabbit store. Need I say more?

You’ll find yourself becoming well acquainted with the historical looking streets after just one day. You’ll be warmed by delicious fudge and gingerbread hot chocolate. You’ll feel like a Jane Austen novel character when sitting on the window seat in your bed and breakfast and curling up with a good book; Especially if you’re wearing a big, cozy oatmeal colored sweater like the one I’m wearing here!

If you decide to stroll along the streets of Stratford or some other adorable town for a weekend, here is a tip on what to wear: dress warm! As mentioned above, an oversized sweater like mine will go a long way. Don’t be afraid to wear a skirt, but if you do, wear some skin colored nylons and knee high socks to finish off the look.

Keeping it Krischic,

Kristin Vartan
