Scorching summers call for cute summer dresses–but don’t sweat it.
The simple solution to staying cool while remaining styling lies in a flowy summer dress.
You may be thinking–this isnt’ news to me Kristin. Everyone knows that a summer dress is the best option for the hot months of June, July and August. That’s why they are called SUMMER dresses after all.
I know, I know. But I’m here to tell you to remain true to your personal style in the midst of trendy summer dresses this season. Please, have a go at the latest styles… take a risk because your favorite new number may a piece you never expected to fall in love with. But don’t neglect your old reliables.
There’s this notion that dresses come in and out of style, but what has never been a fad is wearing something that’s flattering. I’ve had this Cotton Candy striped number since last summer–and cannot stop wearing it because it does justice to me as the person inside the dress. It accentuates my figure–with its off-the-shoulder cut displaying my neckline and sinches at the waste, where my torso curves in. And it is easy to roam around in on the beach because its flared, lightweight and rests just below the knees.
But it doesn’t just fit who I am physically, but it fits my personality as well. I was born in the wrong era, something I never let people in this day in age quite forget. But an antique magic reflective of Margaret in Elizabeth Gaskell’s North and South can revive an old world just enough for me to rest easy in modern times.
Maybe the right dress for you is vintage–or new age–off-the-shoulder or scoop neck. Whatever it may be, you do you this summer. Staying true to your style is quite chic.
What’s your go to summer dress style?
Keeping it Krischic,
