Yes, my vehement for vintage could not be diminished, even on the 2018 Emmys gold carpet and Governor’s Ball (Emmys after party). While the star-studded carpet was filled with more modern gowns, I was excited to wear my Edwardian dress of forest green velvet, lined with cream lace. I embodied a hybrid of a character on Downtown Abbey mixed with Cinderella. After all, I did wear modern day glass slippers–Jeffrey Campell’s clear strapped heels. And the whole affair ended at the stroke of midnight and I’d have to return to reality the next day.
I still think of Monday night as a dream–What a pleasure it was to share the gold carpet with Giuliana Rancic, and surreal to be at the same after party as Clare Foy, James Corden, Stephen Colbert, Darren Criss, Zac Posen, Millie Bobbie Brown, Rachel Brosnahan and make eye contact with Milo Ventimiglia (still in love with him as Jess from Gilmore Girls).
And of course, no fairytale night is complete without the protagonist breaking out into song, as the one of the singers at the Governor’s Ball pointed the mic toward me and let me sing a couple of lines from Bruno Mar’s Treasure! I danced and sung the night away and did so around people I admire. I believe this is the first of many opportunities like this!
Keeping it Krischic,
