As my Dior Backstage Pop-Up makeup artist, Tara applied Dior’s Capture Youth: Age Delay Advanced Creme (also super reassuring hearing from her that I present no signs of aging, yay!) onto my face, we gushed about Christian Dior’s history as a brand. I thought of the parallels between Christian Dior’s timelessness and the time-freezing moisturizer being massaged into my skin:
The preservation of brand legacy and preservation of a person’s youth through daily application of an anti-aging moisturizer equally require three key ingredients: quality, genuine passion and dedication. Maybe it’s stupid, maybe it’s cheesy, but if you’re an avid reader of my blog you know that I can get slightly philosophical about things. Now hear me out:

For Christian Dior, a luxury fashion house that has been around for over seven decades it has taken the superb quality of his ready-to-wear, couture and beauty lines to earn the trust and admiration of loyal customers. It also took genuine passion from Christian Dior to believe in himself enough to leave his apprenticeship with Pierre Balmain to start his own fashion house—one that single-handedly restored Paris as a couture hub following World War II, according to CR Fashion Book.
This passion continues on with Dior’s predecessors, including current Dior creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, who has revitalized Dior’s signature A-line dress into something modern, yet fantastical and ethereal on Dior’s couture runways. Then there’s dedication—it takes hard work and years to cultivate a brand. These qualities of Dior as a brand have led to its eternal heritage. That’s why fans of Dior like me are itching to get to a Dior beauty pop-up in Beverly Hills the second they read about it from their place of work, The Hollywood Reporter.
Quality moisturizing parallels brand heritage: It takes a well-made product, like this crème from Dior to perform the effects of adequate skin hydration and youth-preservation, especially for someone with dry skin that could be susceptible to wrinkles (this is not an ad, I’m just fangirling over this crème like no other). It takes genuine passion for one’s health and wellness to take good care of their skin and invest in products like this moisturizer. And it takes determination to use the product routinely–even on those late nights when the temptation to sleep with your makeup on is almost impossible to refuse. Needless to say, I left the pop-up with the crème in tow.
Honest to God it was sheer will power that kept me from buying every product Tara used on me. If you saw my Insta-stories of even just look at these photos, you can tell that my makeup has never looked better. In case you want to check out the pop-up or shop the products I used, here’s a link to shop everything I’m wearing on my face.
As for my outfit, I’ve been getting a lot of inquiries about my top, and it’s actually a vintage silk scarf that I turned into a bustier! MAGIC! Equestrian motifs are such a must around Ascot season in England and the Kentucky Derby here in the U.S.! To keep the look casual, I tucked the scarf into my vintage Levis and wore a pair of Coach two-toned pumps.
Be sure to check out the Dior Backstage Pop-up this weekend in LA before it’s gone!
