Ever since I can remember, my brother, Sean Vartan and I have been best friends.
Granted we’ve butted heads throughout the years due to the nature of our six-year age gap and the fact that I am a girl and he is a boy. Fellow brother-sister duos will understand this!
But Sean and I also have a variety of things in common: a shared bond formed from playing video games (bet you didn’t see that one coming!), listening to Oldies Music, Disneyland trips– and a shared love for fashion. There was a time when I played stylist to my brother and helped him pick out clothes at department stores, but the student has surpassed the master!
That much was clear as I saw my little bro clad in cuffed khakis with a black button-down and matching leather belt. Sean was all spiffy-ed up for his senior photo shoot over the weekend as we traipsed Malibu’s El Matador State Beach. It was one of the seldom moments where I was behind-the-camera (Sean has been gracious enough to snap blog photos for me throughout the years). Through the lens, I couldn’t help but admire his attention to detail. Sean had become a pro at sculpting his curly black tresses and adding timeless (pun attend) accessories to his look with a silver Gucci watch. I had taught the broski well. He is not merely graduating high school, but graduating the need to have me as his style savant.
For a few moments, I had to jump in front of the camera, since we matched perfectly while snapping beach photos. I’d say we looked like a Calvin Klein editorial if the brand was shooting a sibling style campaign. Granted, I was sporting blue mom jeans to my brother’s khakis, but my black knit top and shiny leather purse from the House of Want was a clear complement to his look. It was about time I introduced you all to my dashing brother, since I have dedicated myriads of posts to my mother and one to my father as well.
