Keeping it Krischic a Talk Show for the ‘Chicest’ Creatives is back with a shift of focus during the Coronavirus pandemic!
Chic by definition means “elegant” or “fashionable,” but by its origins the adjective also means “skillful.” Keeping it Krischic is a talk show for guests and audiences who are looking to embody those qualities. “Chic” guests can be anyone of any background that aims to be aspirational, whether they are entrepreneurs, social justice leaders, fashion icons, entertainment stars, etc. This has been the talk show’s ethos since season 1.
Since the sheltering in place, I felt a call to revive my talk show and shift its focus a bit. As a journalist, my innate call is to give a voice to the voiceless. My heart longs to inform and provide hope through storytelling. That is how my pandemic special developed into an entire new season of the talk show:
Season 2: Quarantelling Stories
Quarantelling Stories is a special edition of my Keeping it Krischic talk show, where stories of resilience can be found during the coronavirus pandemic. My latest episode is with with All Rise Actor, J. Alex Brinson on what it’s like to be a part of the first primetime drama to film a TV episode VIRTUALLY.
Hollywood has come to a halt during the Coronavirus pandemic, but All Rise has chosen to rise to the occasion. The All Rise cast has continued production while sheltering in place, by way of WebEX, Zoom and FaceTime. The CBS drama about the Superior Court in Los Angeles is the first primetime scripted series to produce an episode virtually and will air tomorrow, May 4 on CBS. The theme will even tie into the social distancing narrative. Watch the episode posted above for all the details!
Every Monday, inspirational stories like these will air on the talk show to boost morale during the pandemic. As seasoned journalist with a heart for human interest pieces, I truly believe that we need stories of hope right now.
If you have a story of resilience or know someone who does, email me at keepingitkrischic@gmail.com or dm me on social media! You can also contact me via email for media inquiries.
The Story Behind the Style:
It was a 90-degree summer 2019 day when I ravaged through the cave of wardrobe wonders known as the top drawer of my dresser. The heat rendered most of the blouses in my closet useless, which brought me before the handle of the drawer with an eagerness and desperation of a fashionista hoping for something, anything to work with!
That was when I found a treasure trove of silk scarves! Scarves I had thrifted and retrieved from my mother’s ‘90s stash all in one place and seen in a new light! Their breathtaking designs were meant to be showcased in greater detail than simply folding them into neckwear. And so, the scarf-tube top was born. What was last year’s summer staple is now a go-to for adding a pop of interest to a sleek black skirt suit for my talk show.
