This socially-distanced summer, I’m living the lime green dream of a sixties queen!

My heart and soul belong to the past while my mind is sharply focused on the present and future. Naturally, I wear my heart not only on my sleeve, but my entire outfit—which is good because this dress doesn’t have sleeves (I always have dad jokes up my sleeve too. Speaking of dad, mine took these photos, and I’m pretty impressed with how they turned out. Let’s give him a hand, chicsters).

What I’m saying is, that when you see me blog about an outfit, I’m sharing a piece of myself with you. Currently, I’m head-over-kitten-heels in love with sixties fashion. This was the era of mod dresses (think Twiggy): thing bright colors and fun fabrics (tweed in this case, which is timeless thanks to Chanel). I paired this plant-hued pinafore with some pointed-toe-pumps to further drive home the retro callback.

Naturally, lime green gives just that head nod to mod I was looking for when putting together this look. Lime green was on trend on the runways pre-COVID for two years straight, calming down to 2020’s mint green. While I’ve bought into the mint trend as well, here’s why lime green is not leaving my closet anytime soon:

“It is one of those colors that makes you feel refreshed and reinvigorated,” Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute told Who What Wear, “and in a world that sometimes can weigh you down, lime is an instant picker-upper!”

Well, there’s not more appropriate time than this pandemic for a color “picker-upper,” amiright? In general, I’ve been looking a lot to lively fashion editorials that scream summer and bring smiles (You can follow my “Oldies but Goodies” board on Pinterest to see exactly what I mean). Stay tuned for more summer style pick-me-ups through this socially-distanced summer!
What color brings you joy?
Keeping it Krischic,
